The Songs by Schubert gained prominence at salon concerts held at homes during the times called Biedermeier in Vienna. Many pieces were introduced especially at "Schubertiade", a gathering to enjoy music with Schubert.
The seven small works that are carried, although possess great artistry, are all endearing pieces in folk style format (strophenlied/strophic song), and are collections that could exemplify "Schubert's gathering". Schubert also wrote many music for male chorus, but German songs were after all the core of his creation, which are something that aspiring singers would certainly want to sing, and this collection realises the dream of allowing us to enjoy those songs by choir.
Schubert's works are master Masumoto's lifework as well and we've selected these for the first compilation.
